Most problems with an Arma Reforger server come down to a few causes. Start with the one that matches what you see.
The server runs but players cannot find it in the server browser
Why: Visible in Server Browser is off, or the server only just started and has not been listed yet.
Fix: Turn Visible in Server Browser on under Settings, then Game Settings and restart, or have players use direct connect with the Server Address from the Overview page.
Players are refused or kicked right after joining
Why: Enable BattlEye is on and the player's game does not have BattlEye enabled, or their game version differs from the server.
Fix: Ask the player to enable BattlEye and update the game, or turn Enable BattlEye off and restart if you do not want anti-cheat.
Players on a newly released game version cannot join
Why: The server has not updated yet. It only checks Steam for updates when it starts.
Fix: Make sure Automatic Updates is on, then restart the server. Use Verify Server Files for one start only if the server still misbehaves.
The server will not start or stops early after adding a mod
Why: A mod ID or version is mistyped, or the mod could not be downloaded. Mods are required for the server to start by default.
Fix: Check each ID is exactly 16 characters, versions look like 1.2.0, and entries are separated by commas. Remove the newest ID and restart to find the faulty one.
Typing #login does nothing or says the password is wrong
Why: No Admin Password is set, it was changed but the server was not restarted, or the command was typed outside the in-game chat.
Fix: Set Admin Password under Settings, then Game Settings, restart, then type #login and the password in the in-game chat box. Avoid spaces in the password.
The server loads the wrong mission or fails right after the scenario loads
Why: Scenario ID does not exactly match a scenario the server can load, or the scenario belongs to a mod that is not in Workshop mods.
Fix: Copy the Scenario ID exactly from the list the server prints in the console at start, and add the scenario's mod to Workshop mods if it needs one.
Still stuck?
Open a ticket in the category that fits and include the last 50 to 100 lines of the console. See How to open a support ticket and How to fix a server that will not start.
