Your server updates itself: with Auto Update on, every start downloads the newest Evrima server build. To update now, restart the server. The Daily restart does this for you every morning.
Update now
- Open your server in the panel.
- Click Restart. See How to start, stop, restart and force-stop your server.
- Watch the Console. Steam's lines show the download. A start with an update takes longer than usual.
Why players cannot join after a game update
When the developers release a new Evrima build, Steam updates your players' game. A game on the new build cannot join a server still on the old one. Restart the server so it downloads the same build, and players can join again.
Auto Update
The Auto Update switch is on the Settings tab: open Game Settings and click Show advanced at the bottom of the list. It is on by default: Steam checks for an update at every start. Switch it off to start on the installed build without checking. Only do that for a short while: players with the newest game cannot join a server that is behind.
The evrima branch
The server always runs the evrima branch, the same beta players choose in Steam. There is nothing to switch.
