How to use it on any server
- Stop the server and back up
TheIsle/Saved. - Download the file and put it at
TheIsle/Saved/Config/LinuxServer/Game.ini(WindowsServeron a Windows server), replacing the old one. - To be listed, the server also needs an
[EpicOnlineServices]section inEngine.iniin the same folder, with the client ID and secret from the developers' server guide. This page does not make that file. - Start the server. Players switch to the
evrimabeta in Steam, open the Unofficial server list and search for your server name.
How to use it on PlayNHost
- On a PlayNHost server the panel writes
Game.iniandEngine.inifor you at every start, so a pasted file would be put back. Set the same values in the panel instead. - Open your server in the Game Panel. Growth, day and night, AI, plants, migration, spawning, diets, humans and chat are on the Gameplay page. Blocked creatures, playable species and mutations are on the Species page.
- Server name and join password are on the Settings page. The whitelist, admins, VIPs and bans are under Who can play on the players card of the Overview.
Every option is explained in our The Isle server settings reference, and this guide covers the first setup. Want a server? See The Isle server hosting, with servers in Europe, North America, South America, Asia and Australia.
Run your The Isle server on PlayNHost
Instant setup, DDoS protection, automatic backups and a 72-hour money-back guarantee. Change these settings in the panel, no file editing.

Where is Game.ini for The Isle Evrima?
In TheIsle/Saved/Config/LinuxServer on a Linux server, or TheIsle/Saved/Config/WindowsServer on Windows. Create the folder and file if the server has not made them.
What growth multiplier should I use?
1 is the game's normal speed. Most community servers stay under 20; higher values make players reach adult size in minutes.
How do I make myself admin?
Add your SteamID64 (17 digits starting with 7656119) to Admins in the Admins and lists tab, download the file and restart the server.
Why can players not find my server?
Players need the evrima beta and must look in the Unofficial list. The server also needs the EOS client ID and secret in Engine.ini to be listed at all.
Good to know
- Sources. The developers publish no full settings list for Evrima. Every key name on this page was checked against the Evrima dedicated server program by PlayNHost on 18 October 2026. Default values are those of the example Game.ini shared in community server guides, such as the Steam server guide, which our own servers also use. The playable species list is the one the game itself returned on 18 October 2026.
- Left out on purpose:
bAllowReplay,bServerDynamicWeatherandMaxMigrationTime. Older guides list them, but the current server does not have those keys. - Keys marked "No published default" are only written when you fill them in.
- Write every key. In our tests, a key missing from Game.ini made the server report random values for it, such as a night length of minus two billion minutes.
- Lists (admins, whitelist, VIPs, species) go under
[/Script/TheIsle.TIGameStateBase]. Our tests showed the game loads them there; community guides report that under the session section they are ignored. If your file also has aBP_SurvivalGameStatesection with the same lists, that section wins, so remove the lists from it. - With every species on, no
AllowedClasseslines are written and all species stay playable.
