These are the options on the Settings, Game Settings page of a PlayNHost Satisfactory server, taken from the panel's own definitions. Rows marked read only are set by your plan or the server and cannot be changed.
All settings
| Setting | What it does | Allowed | Default |
|---|---|---|---|
| Automatic Updates | Checks for a newer Satisfactory version each time the server starts and installs it before the world loads. Leave this on unless you run mods: a game update often lands before the mod loader supports it, and your mods will stop loading until they catch up. | on or off | on |
| Number of Rotating Autosaves | How many autosaves the server keeps. Once there are this many, each new autosave deletes the oldest. Higher values give you more points to roll back to and use more disk space. | a number from 1 to 50 | 3 |
| Client Initial Connection Timeout | How many seconds the server waits for a player who is still joining before giving up on them. Raise it if people on slow connections get dropped before they reach the world. | a number from 1 to 300 | 30 |
| Client Established Connection Timeout | How many seconds the server waits for a player who has already joined but has gone quiet before disconnecting them. Raise it if players on unstable connections get dropped in the middle of play. | a number from 1 to 300 | 20 |
| Game Branch | Which build of the game to run. Leave this on the default for the normal release. Experimental gets upcoming changes early and can break saves and mods, so pick it only if you specifically want to test. | one of: public, experimental | empty |
| Validate Server Files | Re-checks every game file against Steam on the next start and repairs anything missing or damaged. This adds several minutes to that one start, so turn it on only when the server is misbehaving. It only runs while Automatic Updates is on. | on or off | off |
| ficsit.app mods | Mods to run, comma separated, named by the Mod Reference on the mod's ficsit.app page. Example: RefinedPower, LoadBalancers. The Satisfactory Mod Loader and anything a mod depends on are installed for you, matched to the game build this server is running, and re-checked every time it starts, so changing this list only needs a restart. Only mods with a dedicated server build are accepted. Everyone joining needs the same mods on their own game. Mods you upload into FactoryGame/Mods yourself are never touched by this. | up to 512 characters, letters and numbers and these symbols: _ | empty |
| Reliable Messaging Port (read only) | The second port this server listens on. Satisfactory uses it to finish putting players into the world, and if it is not reachable players connect and then sit on the loading screen forever. The panel assigns it with your server; it is shown here so you can match it against Ports and Network, and it cannot be changed from this page. | set by your plan or the server | assigned to your server |
| Max Players (read only) | The player limit that comes with your plan. It is applied to the world every time the server starts. Satisfactory itself is tuned for four players, so a busy larger world may run rough. | set by your plan or the server | set by your plan |
Good to know
- These settings are applied when the server starts, so restart after changing them. Server name, player password, autosave interval and auto pause are set in the game instead, from the server's settings in Server Manager.
- The panel saves a value when you leave its field. If the value is not allowed, the panel tells you and keeps the old one.
- To open the page, follow How to set up your Satisfactory server or How to change your server settings.
