A Satisfactory mod has two names: the display name on its ficsit.app page, such as Pioneer Production Planner, and its Mod Reference, such as SFPFactoryPlanner, which is what the mod installer uses. On PlayNHost you rarely need the reference: search by name on the Modding tab and click Add, and the panel stores the right reference for you.
The easy way: search by name
- Open your server in the panel and click the Modding tab.
- Type the name you know in the search box of Add mods from ficsit.app.
- Click Add on the right result.
Your mod list then shows the mod's display name, and the panel keeps its Mod Reference behind it. See How to add mods to your Satisfactory server.
Find the Mod Reference on ficsit.app
Open the mod's page on ficsit.app and look for Mod Reference in the mod's details. It is one word made of letters, numbers and underscores, with no spaces. On the Mods page of the panel, the link icon next to each mod opens its ficsit.app page.
| Display name (what you see) | Mod Reference (what the installer needs) |
|---|---|
| Pioneer Production Planner | SFPFactoryPlanner |
If you type the name in Settings
The ficsit.app mods field in Settings, Game Settings holds the Mod References, separated by commas. When you save it, the panel checks every new entry against ficsit.app:
- A known Mod Reference is kept.
- The right reference in the wrong capitals is corrected.
- A display name that exactly one mod has, ignoring capitals and spaces, is replaced by that mod's Mod Reference.
- Anything else is refused, and the field shows why. A small typing mistake gets a suggestion, for example:
"SFPFactoryPlaner" is not a Mod Reference. Did you mean SFPFactoryPlanner (Pioneer Production Planner)? A mod is listed by the Mod Reference on its ficsit.app page.
When no mod is close, the message says the entry is not a mod on ficsit.app. Search for it on the Modding page and add it from there. If two mods share the name you typed, the panel asks you to add the one you mean from the Modding page. If ficsit.app does not answer at that moment, the value is saved as typed.
If a wrong name got onto the list anyway
A start with a name ficsit.app does not know keeps your installed mods and says so. The Console shows WARNING ficsit.app has no mod called: with the name, and the Mods page shows The last start could not apply the mods. Remove the entry from Your mod list and add the mod again from the search. See Your Satisfactory mods were not applied at the last start.
