Paste the collection's Steam address into Workshop items and click Add. The panel opens it into the mods it contains and skips any already in the list. The server downloads single mods, not collections, so a collection is never kept as one entry. Then add the mod names to Enabled mods.
Steps
- Open the Workshop tab. Back up first: How to back up and restore your Project Zomboid world.
- Paste the address of the collection into Workshop items. The field asks for "a Steam Workshop address or id, or a collection". Click Add.
- The page reports "Added N mods from the collection." and, when some were already listed, "N were already in the list."
- Click Save.
- In Enabled mods, add the names the box Names for the mods you are downloading offers. Use Add all for the lot, then Save.
- Check the order: How to fix the mod load order on your Project Zomboid server.
- Click Restart to apply. A big collection takes a while to download at the start.
If a collection stays in the list
If a collection ended up as one entry, it carries the badge Collection, and the page says "A Steam collection is in this list". Click the button that starts "Add the N mods in" and ends with the collection's name, to swap it for the mods inside.
Good to know
- A collection can hold mods for Build 41 and Build 42 together. Rows with Outdated or Wrong game will not load: Project Zomboid mods and Build 42: what to know.
- The list holds up to 2000 characters. If it is too long, the page says "This list is longer than the server accepts" and asks you to remove some entries. A collection with very many mods may not fit.
- Many mods make a heavier server. Watch the Usage card: How much RAM does a Project Zomboid server need.
- Players download all the mods when they join.
