Your players join your Mordhau server with its Server Address, shown on the server's Overview page in the panel. Mordhau is a multiplayer medieval melee combat game with skill-based fighting, team modes and large battles; a hosted server gives your clan or community its own always-on server with your own map, rules, password and admins.
Join in a few steps
- Open your server in the panel. If the status badge says Offline, click Start and wait until it says Online. See How to start, stop, restart and force-stop your server.
- On the Overview page, click the copy icon next to Server Address. It looks like
address:port.

- Launch Mordhau from Steam and wait for the main menu.
- Choose Fight from the main menu, then open the server browser. If your menu looks different, look for the server browser.
- Search for the name you set under Server Name in Settings, then Game Settings, and select your server. A new server can take a while to show up in the list after it starts.
- Click Join. If you set a Server Password, enter it when the game asks. Leave the password empty if you did not set one.
- If the server does not show in the list, open the in-game console and type open followed by a space and your Server Address, for example open address:port, then press Enter. This works for a server without a password. If your server has a Server Password, join it from the server browser instead. The console key is set in the game's options under keystrokes.
Ports
Players use the address and port shown as the Server Address. The server also has a query port and a beacon port, which the panel assigns to your server. Players never type them.
Game version
Players and the server must be on the same Mordhau patch. With Auto Update on (the default) the server installs the newest patch every time it starts, so restart the server after a Mordhau update. With Auto Update off the server stays on the build it has until you restart with it back on.
If you cannot join
- The server must be Online. Check the badge at the top of the page.
- Copy the address again from the panel. A missing or mistyped port is the most common cause.
- Make sure every player runs a compatible game version.
- Check the password, if you set one. See How to set up your Mordhau server.
