Every PlayNHost server runs in Germany today. It is the only location that is available to order, so a server is created there whichever plan you buy. Germany suits players across Europe well. The further away your players are, the more ping they will see, so if most of your players live far from Germany, expect higher latency until we open a location closer to them.
See where your server runs
- Open your server in the panel.
- On the Overview page, look at the Location row. It shows the country and its flag. In the order flow the same location is called Europe.

The location list
Click the pencil next to Location to open the list of regions, with your ping to each one. It is grouped into Europe, Asia Pacific, North America and South America. Regions we have not opened yet are labelled Unavailable, and only the current location can be chosen today.

What a move does
When a new region becomes available, the same window lets you move a server to it. The window explains what to expect:
- the server is copied to the new region
- it is offline while the move runs
- its address changes when the move is done, so players need the new address
Take a backup before any move. See How to create, download and restore backups.
DDoS protection
Servers are protected against denial-of-service attacks. The protection is included with every plan and works without any setup.
Good to know
- You do not need to forward ports. Your address is public once the server is running. See How to join your server.
- Ping depends on your own internet connection as well as distance. A wired connection is steadier than Wi-Fi.
