- Find your FiveM identifier first. Join the server once. If txAdmin is on, its player list shows your identifiers. If it is not, open a ticket, say you want admin rights on your FiveM server, and ask us to read your identifier after you have joined once.
- Stop the server and open server.cfg in Files.
- If server.cfg already has an add_principal line that starts with identifier.fivem:, replace the number after it with your own identifier. If it has none, add these two lines at the end: add_ace group.admin command allow, and add_principal identifier.fivem:YOURID group.admin, with your own identifier in place of YOURID. Add one add_principal line per admin.
- Save server.cfg and start the server again, then join with that account.
- To use txAdmin instead, switch on Enable txadmin under Settings, then Game Settings, and restart. txAdmin then runs its own server configuration, so the server.cfg admin lines no longer apply while it is on. Open a ticket to ask for the address of your txAdmin page, then follow its first-time setup, which signs you in with your Cfx.re account using a PIN and asks you to create a password.
- To start txAdmin from scratch, stop the server and make a panel backup first, then delete the txData folder in Files. This removes your txAdmin setup, its admin accounts and its history. Data your scripts keep in a database is not touched by this.
Useful admin commands
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
add_ace group.admin command allow | Config line for server.cfg that lets the admin group run every server command. |
add_principal identifier.fivem:YOURID group.admin | Config line for server.cfg that adds one player, by FiveM identifier, to the admin group. Use one line per admin. |
status | Lists connected players with their identifiers, server IDs and names. |
ensure resourcename | Starts a resource, or restarts it if it is already running. |
refresh | Rescans the resources folder so a newly uploaded resource can be started. |
The add_ace and add_principal entries are lines you put in server.cfg in Files, not commands to type. The other commands run in the FiveM server console, which for you is the live console inside txAdmin when it is enabled. They are not typed in the game chat. See How to use the console and run commands.
