These are the options on the Settings, Game Settings page of a PlayNHost FiveM server, taken from the panel's own definitions. Rows marked read only are set by your plan or the server and cannot be changed.
All settings
| Setting | What it does | Allowed | Default |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cfx.re License Key | Required. A FiveM server will not start without a Cfx.re license key. Keys are free: sign in at https://portal.cfx.re/ and create one for your server, then paste it here and Start. | up to 33 characters, letters, numbers, dashes and underscores | empty |
| Server Hostname | The name that shows up in the server browser | up to 96 characters, no line breaks | A PlaynHost FiveM Server |
| fivem version | The fivem version that is to be installed. Invalid versions will default to recommended. An example is 6013-d8ae399d15680da569022f57ab7f2474d307c821 You can get the latest version from here - https://runtime.fivem.net/artifacts/fivem/build_proot_linux/master/ | up to 50 characters | recommended |
| Steam Web Api Key | Optional. Use your own Steam Web API key if you need players' Steam identifiers, or leave it set to none. You can create a key at https://steamcommunity.com/dev/apikey/ | up to 64 characters, letters and numbers | none (leave it as none unless you need Steam identifiers) |
| Enable txadmin | Runs txAdmin, the browser-based admin panel for FiveM, alongside your server. | on or off | off |
| Game Name | Leave on fivem. The other choice, redm, is for RedM servers. | one of: fivem, redm | fivem |
| Auto-update server | Check for a new FXServer artifact each time the server starts. It follows the channel set above, so "recommended" stays on the recommended artifact. Cfx.re stop accepting artifacts once they fall outside the support window, at which point the server drops off the server list, so leaving this on is what keeps it joinable. Your resources, server.cfg and txAdmin data are never touched. A pinned build number is never updated. | on or off | on |
| Resources to start | Resources to start, as a comma separated list of folder names from under resources. Each one gets an ensure line written into server.cfg on every start, so uploading a resource and adding its name here is all it takes. Anything already started by server.cfg is left alone. On boot the console also names any resource that is installed and that nothing starts. | up to 1024 characters, letters and numbers and these symbols: _ . - | empty |
| Max Players (read only) | Set the fivem max play count | set by your plan or the server | set by your plan |
| txAdmin Port (read only) | The port for the txAdmin panel | set by your plan or the server | assigned to your server |
Good to know
- Change these under Settings, then Game Settings, and restart the server. Cfx.re License Key, Server Hostname, Steam Web Api Key and Max Players are written into server.cfg every time the server starts, so anything you type over those lines in the file is replaced. The Resources to start list is also applied on each restart. Edit other lines of server.cfg while the server is stopped.
- The panel saves a value when you leave its field. If the value is not allowed, the panel tells you and keeps the old one.
- Passwords and tokens are not listed with a value. Each server starts with one set for you, or with none, as the row says.
