How to get a BeamMP auth key for your server

Create a free key at keymaster.beammp.com under Keys, copy it, and paste it into your server on the Overview page or in Settings. BeamMP refuses to start a server without a key, even a private one. The key belongs to your own BeamMP account, so we cannot create it for you.

Create the key

1. Go to keymaster.beammp.com and sign in with your BeamMP account.
2. Open Keys and create a new key for this server.
3. Copy the key. It is 36 characters long, in five groups separated by hyphens, like 1a2b3c4d-1a2b-1a2b-1a2b-1a2b3c4d5e6f.

Keep it private, like a password. The panel keeps it private too.

Paste it into your server

Any one of these places saves the same key.

On the Go live card (Overview): step 1, Your BeamMP key. Paste it in the box. Under the box the panel says This looks like a BeamMP key. when the shape is right. The key is saved when you click the card's button at the bottom: How to put your BeamMP server in the server list.

On the key card (Overview): while no key is saved, the card Your server needs one more thing has a box for the BeamMP Auth Key. Paste the key and click Save.

In Settings:

1. Click the Settings tab. Your server's options are in Game Settings.
2. Click in BeamMP Auth Key, paste the key and press Enter.
3. If the server is running, click Restart now on the banner that says Saved. The server must restart before these take effect.

On the BeamMP server list card (Overview): when the key is missing or refused, the card shows a box. Paste the key, click Save key, then restart the server. The card says Key saved. Restart the server so BeamMP sees it.

If the panel refuses the key

The panel only takes a key of the right shape: 36 characters, letters and digits in groups of 8, 4, 4, 4 and 12. Copy it again from keymaster without spaces or extra text. The box says That is longer than a key. or That is not the shape of a BeamMP key. when something is off.

Replace a key

A key belongs to one server at a time. Create a new key in keymaster if:

• the key already runs another server,
• you deleted it in keymaster, or
• BeamMP refused it.

On the Go live card click Use another key, or paste the new key in Settings, then restart the server. See BeamMP refused your server auth key.

Good to know

• Moving from another host? Use a new key here, or delete the old server's key in keymaster, so two servers never share one.
• The key is written into ServerConfig.toml at every start. Change it in the panel, not in that file.
• To see whether BeamMP accepted it, look at the BeamMP server list card or the Console: Your BeamMP server does not show in the server list.
