No. PlayStation 5 players cannot join a V Rising server on PlayNHost. Stunlock Studios publishes two separate V Rising dedicated server builds, one for the PC game and one for the PlayStation 5 game, and PlayNHost servers run the PC build. Players on PC with V Rising from Steam can join.
Why the PS5 version cannot join
Stunlock's server instructions say there are six different versions of V Rising, "and therefore also of the V Rising Dedicated Server". The two current ones are "1.1.x (PC)" and "1.1.x (PS5)", each with its own instructions. Both come from the same Steam server download, but from different branches:
| Edition | Server branch on Steam |
|---|---|
| PC | default |
| PlayStation 5 | ce-1 |
Your PlayNHost server installs the PC build from the default branch, so it is a server for the PC game. A server for PS5 players needs the PS5 build from the ce-1 branch, which PlayNHost servers do not run.
Who can join?
- Players on PC who own V Rising on Steam: How to join your V Rising server.
- Every player needs their own copy of the game. The server does not: the V Rising Dedicated Server is a free download from Steam that your server installs itself.
Is there crossplay between PC and PS5?
Not on one dedicated server. Stunlock publishes a separate server version for each edition, and a server runs one of them. Stunlock's instructions do not describe any setting that lets PC and PS5 players meet on the same server. Your PlayNHost server runs the PC version.
