To restart a match on a Quake Live server on PlayNHost, open Quick Tasks in the left menu and click Run on Restart Match. It sends Quake Live's map_restart command, which ends the current round and reloads the map fresh without restarting the server. The server must be Online.
How do I restart the match?
- Open your server in the panel and check that the badge says Online.
- Click Quick Tasks in the left menu.
- Under All tasks, find Restart Match: "Ends the current round and reloads the map fresh - there is no world to save, so this is the reset that matters."
- Click Run.
- Open the Console tab: new lines show Quake Live starting the game again on the same map.
You can also type map_restart in the Console box yourself: it is the same command. PlayNHost checked it on a live Quake Live server: the game really restarts the round, it is not a command that does nothing.
How do I get Restart Match on the Overview?
- On Quick Tasks, open the menu of Restart Match and choose Pin to overview.
- The task now also shows under Pinned tasks: "These appear as Quick tasks on the server overview."
- On Overview, the task is now one click away. The overview shows 6 quick tasks at most: with 6 pinned, the panel says "The overview shows 6 quick tasks - unpin one first."
Is Restart Match the same as restarting the server?
No. Restart Match keeps the server process running and only resets the round. Restart, under Additional power actions next to Stop, or the Send Restart task, stops Quake Live with its quit command and starts it again, so every player is disconnected.
