To change the rates of a Palworld server on PlayNHost, open Settings, then Gameplay Settings, and set the values in the Rates and speed group: Experience rate, Capture rate, Gathering yield, Enemy drop rate and the others. 1 is Palworld's normal speed, 2 is double. Save and restart. For a ready 3x server, apply the Fast progression (3x) preset.
Set the rates
- Open your server in the panel, click the Settings tab, then Gameplay Settings under Config files.
- Scroll to Rates and speed, or type the setting's name in the search box at the top.
- Type the new value, for example
2for double experience. Use a dot for decimals:1.5. - Click Save & restart, or Save only to apply it at the next start.

The rates players notice most
| Setting | What it changes | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Experience rate | Experience gained | 1 |
| Capture rate | The capture rate multiplier: higher catches Pals more often | 1 |
| Gathering yield | Items from trees, rocks and other gatherable objects | 1 |
| Enemy drop rate | Quantity of items enemies drop | 1 |
| Work speed | The work speed multiplier | 1 |
| Egg hatching time (hours) | Time to hatch a Huge Egg; other eggs also need time | 1 |
| Pal spawn rate | How many wild Pals spawn; the game notes it impacts performance | 1 |
| Daytime speed and Nighttime speed | How fast day and night pass | 1 |
| Player hunger rate and Player stamina drain | How fast hunger and stamina go down | 1 |
| Item weight | How heavy items are | 1 |
| Structure decay rate | How fast buildings decay | 1 |
Egg hatching is a time, not a speed: a lower number hatches faster. 0.5 means half an hour for a Huge Egg.
Every other setting of the group is in Palworld server settings: every option explained.
Ready-made rate sets
- Casual: double experience, gathering and drops, easier captures, eggs in 30 minutes, half hunger and stamina drain, no drops on death.
- Fast progression (3x): three times the experience, gathering and drops, twice the work speed and capture rate, eggs in 15 minutes.
Apply one under Start from a preset at the top of the same page: How to set up your Palworld server with a preset.
Do higher rates affect the server?
- Raising Pal spawn rate makes the server do more work. For a server that already lags, see How to make your Palworld server run smoother.
- Rates stay when you reset the world.
- A world with its own
