How to change your Icarus server name and password

Both are on the Settings tab, under Game Settings: Server Name is the name in the game's dedicated servers browser, Join Password is what players type to join. Change them, then restart the server.

Change the name

1. Open your server in the panel, click the Settings tab, then Game Settings.
2. Type the new name in Server Name and press Enter.
3. Click Restart now when the page offers it.

Rules for the name:

• Up to 32 characters.
• No double quotes (") and no backslash (\).

The name in the panel's server list (the pencil next to Server Name on Overview) is a different name, for your own use. Players never see it. See How to rename your server and change player slots.

Set or change the Join Password

1. On Game Settings, type the password in Join Password and press Enter.
2. Restart the server. The password applies from the next start.

Rules for the password:

• 4 to 32 characters.
• Only letters, numbers and . _ -.

Remove the password

Empty the Join Password field, press Enter and restart. Anyone who finds the server in the browser can then join.

Good to know

• Use a different value for the Admin Password. It makes a player admin: How to become admin on your Icarus server.
• The SessionName line in the game's settings file does not change the name: the game ignores it. Use Server Name.
• The restart disconnects everyone on the server. Send the new password before you restart.
