You can run your DDNet server from the panel or from inside the game. Both use DDNet's own commands: type them in the panel's Console tab, or log in with F2 in the game.
From the panel Console
The Console tab sends what you type to the DDNet server, with no login. For example:
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
status | Lists the players with their id. |
change_map Tutorial | Switches to the map named Tutorial now. |
say Hello | Writes a message to everyone in the chat. |
kick <id> | Kicks the player with that id. |
ban <id> <minutes> | Bans that player's address for the minutes given. |
bans | Lists the bans, each with a number. |
unban <number> | Lifts that ban. unban with an address works too. |

Every setting and command is listed on ddnet.org (Settings and Commands). See also How to use the console and run commands.
From the game
Press F2 in the DDNet client, log in with the RCON Password, and type the same commands. See How to become admin on your DDNet server.
With quick tasks
Quick Tasks in the left menu has DDNet tasks you run with a click:
- Change Map: switches to another map right away. Give the map name without
.map. - Announce to Players: shows a message to everyone on the server.
- List Players: prints everyone in the Console, with the id the next two need.
- Kick Player: disconnects a player by their id. They can join again straight away.
- Ban Player: bans the address of a player, by their id, for one day. A restart lifts it.

A task that needs a value (a map name, a message or a player id) opens Configure task when you click Run: type the value and click Save task, then run it from Your tasks. Steps: How to kick or ban a player on your DDNet server.
Keep your own settings
Your own settings and votes go in myServerconfig.cfg under Files. See How to add your own settings to your DDNet server.
