A PlayNHost Core Keeper server installs game updates only when it starts, and there is no ready-made restart schedule for it. To restart it every day, build a schedule on Quick Tasks from Send Restart, then decide whether it should wait until nobody is playing.
How do I build a daily restart?
- Open your server in the panel and click Quick Tasks in the left menu.
- Under All tasks, with Default tasks selected, find Send Restart.
- Open its menu and choose Schedule….
- Give the schedule a Name, for example
Daily restart, then click Next step. - Choose Repeats, set How often to Every day and pick the time under At. Pick a time your group does not play.
- Keep Enabled on and click Schedule. The new schedule appears under Schedules.

The time cannot be changed once the schedule exists. For another time, delete the schedule and make a new one.
Why restart a Core Keeper server every day?
- With Auto Update on, each start checks Steam for a new Core Keeper server build. A daily restart keeps your server on the same version as your players' game.
- Players whose game has updated cannot join a server still on the old build: Players cannot join your Core Keeper server after a game update.
- The server writes its world when it stops, so a restart also saves.
How do I make the restart wait until nobody is playing?
- Under Schedules, open your new schedule.
- Switch on Skip while players are online.
- Under When players are online, choose Wait up to 1 hour for the server to empty (or another length from 15 minutes to 12 hours), or Skip that run.
With a wait, the panel looks again every 5 minutes, restarts as soon as nobody is on, and restarts anyway when the wait is over.
This needs the panel to see your players. Check the Active players card on Overview while someone plays: if it says No answer from the server, the panel cannot see players, and the schedule runs at its time whoever is on. Pick a quiet time in that case. See How to see who is online on your Core Keeper server.
A restart disconnects anyone still playing, and the panel cannot send a warning to players in the game. Tell your group the restart time.
How do I test, pause or remove the schedule?
- Run now in the schedule's menu runs it straight away.
- The switch on the schedule's row turns it off and on.
- Delete schedule removes it.
