Every new player downloads all your mods before they can drive. If they wait a long time or drop out, the pack is too big, or a zip is broken or packed wrongly. Open the Mods & maps tab: the panel reads every zip and flags the ones that cause trouble.
See who is still downloading
On the Players page, a player who has not finished shows Downloading mods and Joined ... ago. When they are in, the badge changes to In the world.
1. Check the pack size
On Mods & maps, the card What players download shows the size, a rating and the time a first join takes at 25 and 100 Mbit/s. Very large or Too large for most players explains long waits. Switch off what you do not need, remove duplicates and protect paid mods: How to make players join faster on your BeamMP server.
2. Look for broken mods
Click the filter Needs a look under Your mods. Each row says what is wrong:
This file is not a working zip. BeamMP still sends it to every player, and their game cannot load it.Remove it and upload the mod again.Everything in this zip sits inside an extra folder ... so BeamNG loads nothing from it.Zip the folders inside it instead, or get a fresh copy. This zip is empty. Players download it for nothing. No maps, vehicles, UI or scripts were found in this zip.Check that it is a BeamNG mod.Defines ..., which ... defines too. Players may get either one.Two mods hold the same vehicle: keep one.
3. Send the fixed set
Click Apply now, no restart on What players download. Mods reloaded. Players who join from now get the new set. Players already on keep what they have until they rejoin.
Good to know
- BeamMP sends any file ending in
.zip, even a broken one. Only the panel checks what is inside, so check Needs a look after every upload. - Tell new players the first join takes a while, so they let the download finish.
- Players do not need to copy your mods into their own game by hand: BeamMP sends them.
- A mod that needs the player to own it can be protected, so it is not sent: Protect (do not send) in its menu.
