BeamMP colours a name or description with codes: a ^ followed by one character, such as ^4 for red or ^l for bold. The Go live card on Overview has a Colors and styles bar that adds the codes for you and a preview of the result.
Add colours on the Go live card
- Open your server in the panel. The Go live card is on Overview.
- In step 2, Name and description, click in Server name or Description where the colour should start.
- Click a code in Colors and styles. The panel adds it where your cursor is.
- Look at What players will see under the steps. The panel says the preview is close to the launcher's colours, not exact.
- Click the button at the bottom of the card to save and restart.

If you hid the Go live card, type the codes straight into Server Name and Server Description in Settings, Game Settings.
The codes
A code works from where it is to the next code.
| Code | Effect |
|---|---|
^0 to ^9, ^a to ^f | Sixteen colours. In the preview, for example, ^1 is blue, ^4 red, ^a green, ^e yellow and ^f white |
^l | Bold |
^o | Italic |
^n | Underline |
^m | Strikethrough |
^r | Reset: back to plain text |
^p | A new line, in the description only |
For example ^4^lDrift^r Club shows "Drift" in bold red and "Club" in plain text.
Put the colour first and the style after it. In the preview, a colour code ends the styles before it, so ^l^4Drift shows red but not bold.
Good to know
- Each code takes two of the 128 characters a name or description can have. The counter under Description counts them.
- The Server name row on the Play with friends card shows the name without codes, as players type it to search.
- A name and a description cannot contain line breaks or other control characters. Use
^pin the description instead. - The full name steps are in How to change your BeamMP server name, map and slots.
