Astroneer has no Steam Workshop, so community mods are .pak files that you manage on your own PC with a community mod loader, which also produces an extra integrator .pak file that has to be present as well, otherwise the mods load but do nothing.
Back up first. See How to back up and restore your Astroneer world.
Add a mod
- Stop the server from the panel.
- On your own PC, use AstroModLoader (github.com/AstroTechies/AstroModLoader) to set up the mods so that it produces the mod .pak files and the matching integrator .pak file.
- Open Files and go to Astro, then Saved, then Paks, and upload the mod .pak files together with the integrator .pak file.
- Start the server, join it and see whether the mod's content appears. The console prints very little for this game, so it will not list loaded mods. If nothing appears, open a ticket.
Where files go
Open Files and use these places:
- Astro/Saved/Paks (inside Files)
Check it worked
Astroneer prints very little in the Console, so it will not list your mods. Join the server and see whether the mod's content appears. See How to add mods, plugins and modpacks.
If the server stops after you add a mod, remove the newest mod or restore your backup. See How to fix a server that will not start.
