To stop one kind of AI creature from spawning, add its name under AI creatures that never spawn on the Species page and click Save. To switch all AI creatures off, or spawn fewer, use AI creatures and AI density on the Gameplay page.
Stop one kind of creature
- Open your server in the panel and click Species in the left menu.
- Find the card AI creatures that never spawn.
- Type the creature's name in Add a creature and click Add. The card gives examples, such as Boar, Deer and Compsognathus.
- Click Save.

The game does not check these names, so spell them exactly as the game does. To let a creature spawn again, click the cross next to its name, then Save. Every AI creature can spawn. means the list is empty.
On a running server the change reaches the game straight away. While the server is stopped or starting, it is saved for the next start.
Switch all AI off, or spawn fewer
On the Gameplay page, under Creatures and plants:
- AI creatures switches every AI creature on or off.
- AI density sets how many spawn, from 0 to 2. 1 is normal. Lower it on a full server to save memory.
- AI spawn interval (seconds) is the time between waves.
AI creatures and AI density are marked Live: they change the running server straight away. See How to change creature and plant settings on your The Isle server.
Good to know
- AI creatures are the creatures that are not players. Player dinosaurs are chosen on the same page under Playable species.
- Changing this needs permission to edit the server's startup settings.
