Your The Isle community is run from the Active players card on the Overview page. It lists who is on, and it has two buttons: Announce to message everyone, and Who can play for the whitelist, admins, VIPs and bans. Every list works with SteamID64s, so players with the same name are never mixed up.

What you can do
| Task | Where | Guide |
|---|---|---|
| See who is on | Active players card | Who is online |

| Lift a ban | Who can play, Bans | Lift a ban |

| Let players skip the queue | Who can play, VIPs | VIPs |
| Message everyone or one player | Announce, or the row's Send a message… | Announcements |
Open Who can play
- Open your server in the panel.
- On the Active players card, click Who can play.

The window has four tabs: Whitelist, Admins, VIPs and Bans. To add someone, type their SteamID64 in Add by SteamID64 and click Add. On Admins and VIPs you can also type a Name (optional) so you remember who it is. On Whitelist, players who are online and not on the list yet show under Online now, not on the list, to add with one click.
When changes apply
- Whitelist: straight away on a running server, and kept for the next start.
- Admins and VIPs: after the next restart, because the game reads these lists when it starts.
- Bans: a ban from the panel applies straight away. Lifting one applies straight away too.
Under each change the window says when it applies: Done. It applies straight away., Saved. It applies after the next restart of the server., or Saved. The server is stopped, so it applies when it starts.
Find a SteamID64
A SteamID64 is the 17-digit number that starts with 7656119. A player finds theirs on their Steam profile (the number in the profile address, if they have not set a custom one), or with a Steam ID lookup website that reads their profile address.
Good to know
- Use the panel lists, not
Game.ini. The server writes these lists into the game's config at every start, so a line typed into the file by hand is replaced. - A server installed before 18 October 2026 needs one restart before Who can play works.
- You need the panel permission to use the console to kick, ban and announce. Who can play (and lifting a ban) also needs the permissions to read and create files. Owners have all of them. See How to invite friends and give them access.
