The panel will not save your Terraria world name or password

When Game Settings refuses a value, it says why and keeps the old one. Terraria cannot use some characters: accented letters, emoji, double quotes and backslashes are the usual reasons, and TShock and tModLoader also refuse spaces in World Name. Change the value to fit the rules below.

Terraria Vanilla

World NameEnglish letters, numbers, spaces, dots, dashes, underscores and apostrophes, starting with a letter or number, 20 characters at most. It becomes the world's file name.
PasswordPlain letters, numbers, spaces and punctuation, 64 characters at most. No accented letters, emoji, double quotes or backslashes, because players could not type the password the game would then expect.
MOTDPlain letters, numbers, spaces and punctuation, 128 characters at most. Accented letters and emoji would show as code such as \u00e9.
World SeedPlain letters, numbers, spaces and punctuation, 20 characters at most.
Terraria versionlatest, or a version number such as 1.4.4.9 or 1449.

TShock and tModLoader

Fix it

  1. Read the message the panel shows: it names the rule.
  2. Change the value, for example Café to Cafe, or My World to MyWorld on TShock.
  3. Click outside the field to save.

Max Players is greyed out

No field can be changed
