PalworldUpdated Oct 29, 20263 min read

To turn on PvP on a Palworld server, open Settings, Gameplay Settings and switch on PvP, Players can hurt other players and Base defences attack other guilds in the Gameplay rules group, then save and restart. These are the three settings Pocketpair name for PvP. The PvP preset sets all three in one click, plus the loot rules.

The quick way: the PvP preset

  1. Open your server in the panel, click the Settings tab, then Gameplay Settings under Config files.
  2. Under Start from a preset, choose PvP and click Apply preset, then confirm with Apply preset.
  3. Restart the server.
The PvP preset selected under Start from a preset on the Gameplay Settings page of a Palworld server

The preset sets: PvP on, Players can hurt other players on, Friendly fire off, Base defences attack other guilds on, Other guilds can loot what a dead player drops on, and Death penalty ItemAndEquipment. Nothing else changes.

Set PvP by hand

Pocketpair's PvP page says to switch on three settings: PvP, Players can hurt other players and Base defences attack other guilds. It also calls PvP "only a trial feature" that "is not covered by support". In the Gameplay rules group, switch on what you want, then click Save & restart:
