You can host your server's resource pack from the panel. You upload the zip, press Publish, and the panel gives it a public link, works out its checksum and writes the settings into server.properties for you. You no longer need an outside file host or to calculate a SHA-1 yourself.
This is the easy way. If you prefer to host the pack elsewhere and paste its link, see How to use resource packs and data packs on your Minecraft server.
Before you start
- You need a
.zipfile withpack.mcmetaat the top. The pack may not be larger than 250 MiB, which is the most Minecraft accepts. - It is for Minecraft Java servers. The card is not shown for Bedrock servers and proxies, or if you cannot read the server's files. You need permission to read and create files and to update them.
- Bedrock players joining through crossplay do not get Java resource packs.
Publish your pack
- Open your server in the panel and click the Settings tab.
- In the list on the left, under Config files, click Server Properties (Java). If it is not listed, start the server once so it writes
server.properties. Find the Resource pack card below the list of properties.

- Click Upload a zip and choose your pack. The panel puts it in a folder on your server and fills in Pack file on your server with its path. You can also type the path of a zip that is already on your server.
Decide whether players have to take it:
- Players must accept: anyone who declines the pack is disconnected. Leave it off to make the pack optional.
- Message on the accept screen (optional): a short note, up to 200 characters, shown to the player on the screen that asks them to accept.
- Click Publish.
- The panel shows a Public link and the SHA-1 of your file, and says Published with the path and size. A notice asks you to restart the server so players are offered the pack. Restart it.
Players who join afterwards are offered the pack.
Update the pack
Upload the new zip, set its path if the name changed, and click Publish again. The link contains the pack's checksum, so a new version has a new link and players download it. If you replaced the zip on the server without publishing, the card says The zip was replaced after it was published, so the link is paused. Publish again so players get the new version. If the zip is gone, the card says so and asks you to upload it again.
Change the link or stop hosting
- New link gives the pack a new public link, for example if you shared the old one and want it to stop working.
- Stop hosting ends the public link and clears the resource pack settings, so your server offers no pack after the next restart.
If players do not get the pack
- Restart the server after you publish or change anything. The card reminds you.
- Check the file is a zip with
pack.mcmetaat the top. Ifpack.mcmetais inside a folder in the zip, Minecraft cannot load it and the panel refuses to publish it. Zip what is inside the pack folder, not the folder itself. - Bedrock players do not receive Java resource packs.
- Problems on the player's side, such as a pack made for another version, are explained in How to use resource packs and data packs on your Minecraft server.
