How to bring your Xbox or Game Pass Valheim world to your server

Xbox and Game Pass worlds live in the cloud, so you first bring the world onto a PC: on a PC signed in with the same account, open the world list in Valheim, choose Manage saves and Move to local. Then zip the world folder and upload it on the Worlds page. These are the steps the panel's own upload window gives.

Step 1: move the world to the PC

1. On a Windows PC, sign in to Valheim with the same account you play with on Xbox or Game Pass.
2. Open the world list in Valheim.
3. Choose Manage saves, then Move to local for your world.
4. Close Valheim, so it finishes saving.

Step 2: zip the world folder

1. Open %USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\IronGate\Valheim\worlds_local on the PC.
2. Right-click your world's folder and choose Send to, then Compressed (zipped) folder.

Step 3: upload it

1. Open your server in the panel and click Worlds in the left menu.
2. Click Upload a world, then Choose files, and pick the zip.
3. Check World name on this server and leave Make it the active world ticked.
4. Click Upload and check.

Play it together

Make sure Enable Crossplay is on, so console friends can join with the join code: How to join your Valheim server from Xbox or Game Pass.

If it is refused

A world saved by a newer Valheim than the server, or a folder with a missing file, is refused with the reason, and nothing changes on the server. See Valheim world upload was refused.
