How to send a message to every player on your Terraria server

TerrariaUpdated Oct 24, 20263 min read

Open the Console tab and type say followed by your message, for example say The server restarts in 5 minutes. Players see it in chat, prefixed with <Server>. The Announce to Players task on Quick Tasks sends the same message, now or on a schedule.

From the Console

  1. Open your server in the panel and click the Console tab.
  2. Type say and your message, then press Enter.

This works on all three types. On TShock, say is TShock's broadcast.

With Quick Tasks

  1. Click Quick Tasks in the left menu.
  2. Under All tasks, find Announce to Players in Default tasks.
  3. Click Run. The task needs a Message, so the window Configure task opens. Type the message.
  4. Save task keeps it under Your tasks, with your message. Run it from there.

To send it at a set time, open its menu and choose Schedule…. A warning before a scheduled restart is a good use: How to schedule backups and restarts for your Terraria server.
