Your Icarus server installs game updates only when it starts, and there is no ready-made restart schedule for it. Build one on Quick Tasks from Send Restart, then switch on Skip while players are online and choose a wait, so it restarts once the server is empty.
Why restart on a schedule
- With Auto Update on, each start checks Steam for a new Icarus server build. A daily restart keeps your server on the same build as your players' game.
- Players whose game has updated cannot join a server still on the old build: Players cannot join your Icarus server after a game update.
Build the restart schedule
- Open your server in the panel and click Quick Tasks in the left menu.
- Under All tasks, choose Default tasks and find Send Restart.
- Open its menu and choose Schedule….
- Give the schedule a Name, for example
Daily restart, then click Next step. - Choose Repeats, set How often to Every day and pick the time under At. Pick a time your group does not play.
- Keep Enabled on and click Schedule.
The time cannot be changed once the schedule exists. For another time, delete the schedule and make a new one.
Wait until nobody is playing
- Under Schedules, open your new schedule.
- Switch on Skip while players are online.
- Under When players are online, choose Wait up to 1 hour for the server to empty (or another length), or Skip that run.
With a wait, the panel looks again every 5 minutes, restarts as soon as nobody is on, and restarts anyway when the wait is over. If the server cannot report its players, the schedule runs at its time.
A restart disconnects anyone still playing. Warn them with /AdminSay in the game chat: How to become admin on your Icarus server.
Test it, switch it off, remove it
- Run now in the schedule's menu runs it straight away.
- The switch on the schedule's row turns it off and on.
- Delete schedule removes it.
