When RocketWerkz releases an Icarus update, Steam updates your players' game, but your server keeps its build until it starts again. Restart the server so it downloads the new build, and players can join again.
Fix it
- Open your server in the panel and click Restart.
- Watch the Console: the start takes longer while the update downloads.
- When the badge says Online, players can join.
If a restart does not help
- Click the Settings tab, Game Settings, then Show advanced (1).
- Check that Auto Update is on. With it off, the server starts on the build it has without checking.
- Restart again.
The other way round
If a player has not updated their game yet, they are the one behind. They update Icarus in Steam and try again.
Stop it happening again
Restart the server every day at a quiet time, so it picks up updates by itself: How to restart your Icarus server on a schedule. More on updates: How to update your Icarus server.
If you use mods, a game update can break them until their authors update them: Players are disconnected after you add a mod to your Icarus server.
