PLAY OPENMP

open.mp is a multiplayer mod for Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, fully backwards compatible with SA-MP scripts and clients. Players need the PC game at EU or US version 1.0, and Steam copies need the downgrade patch the open.mp docs link. The old SA:MP browser no longer works, so players connect with the open.mp launcher.

PAWN GAMEMODES AND FILTERSCRIPTS

Upload .amx gamemodes to gamemodes/, filterscripts to filterscripts/ and legacy plugins to plugins/ over SFTP, then list them in config.json. The Change Gamemode quick task sends changemode, and open.mp swaps the mode after about 12 seconds without a restart. Reinstalls and updates keep config.json and bans.json.

Do I need to own GTA: San Andreas?
Not to run the server: it is free and needs no game files. Every player, you included, needs GTA: San Andreas for PC at EU or US version 1.0; Steam copies need the downgrade patch linked in the open.mp docs. Players join with the open.mp launcher, because the old SA:MP browser no longer works.
Can I switch gamemodes without restarting?
Yes. Type changemode followed by the gamemode's name in the panel's live console, and open.mp loads it about 12 seconds later without restarting the server.
Is RCON switched on, and what is the password?
Yes, RCON is on. Every server gets its own random RCON password at creation, rather than one password shared by every server, and the panel writes it into config.json with rcon.enable set to true. You can change it in the RCON Password field in Settings. The panel's live console also takes commands such as kick, ban, loadfs and reloadfs.
