The Terraria players card says No answer from the server

The Active players card reads who is on from your server's console, from the has joined. and has left. lines since the server last started. When it cannot tell, it says No answer from the server. That is normal while the server is starting or stopped. If the server is running, the list comes back after the next restart.

What the card says

The panel reads who is on from the server console and cannot tell right now: the server is starting or stopped, or it restarted while the panel was not recording. The list comes back after the next restart.

Fix it

1. If the server is starting, wait for the ready line in the Console: Type 'help' for a list of commands.
2. If it is stopped, start it.
3. If it is running and the card still says it, restart the server at a quiet moment. The panel reads the next start from the beginning.

Meanwhile, playing in the Console lists who is on: How to see who is online on your Terraria server.

No card at all on tModLoader

The panel reads English console lines only. On tModLoader with Language set to anything but 1 (English), the card does not show. Set Language to 1 in Game Settings and restart if you want the card, Kick, Ban and Bans. Your players see their own game in their own language either way; Language is the server's own messages.

Kick or ban says the server did not answer

The server did not say who is on in time. Check it is running and try again. The panel asks the server playing before a kick or ban on Terraria Vanilla and tModLoader. Wait for the server to finish starting and try again, or use kick in the Console.

Good to know

• On TShock, the card treats a player TShock kicked as gone, even when TShock kicked them silently.
