Type save in the Console, or stop the server, then open the Files tab, go to saves/Worlds, open the ... menu on your world's .wld file and choose Download file. On tModLoader, download the .twld file of the same name too.
Download the world file
- Make sure the file is up to date: type
savein the Console and wait for the save lines to finish, or stop the server. - Open the Files tab and go to
saves, thenWorlds. - Find the file named after your World Name, for example
world.wld. - Open the ... menu at the end of its row and choose Download file.
On tModLoader, also download world.twld: without it, the world loses its modded items and blocks.
Play it on your PC
Put the file in the Worlds folder of your Terraria save folder (tModLoader: its own save folder). It then shows in the game's world list. A world from the server is on the server's game version: your game must be on the same version or newer.
Download a backup instead
A backup holds the whole server, world included. On the Backups page, open the backup's ... menu and choose Download. See How to back up and restore your Terraria world.
Good to know
- Download your world before you change the server type, as the panel advises: How to switch your Terraria server to TShock or tModLoader.
- On TShock, player accounts, groups and bans are not in the world file. They are in the
tshockfolder. - To upload a world: How to upload your own Terraria world.
