Use Restore some files... to bring back just the settings files, or just the accounts database, of your Project Zomboid server. Pick the files in the backup, click Restore selected, and the rest of the server stays as it is. The files they replace are kept for 7 days, and you can undo for 24 hours.
Steps
- Open Backups in the left menu. Open the menu Actions for a backup and choose Restore some files....
- Wait while the panel reads the backup. The window is called "Restore some files from" and the name of the backup.
Stay on the tab Files and folders. Open the folders and tick what you want:
.cache/Server/<Server Name>.inior<Server Name>_SandboxVars.lua: your settings..cache/db/<Server Name>.db: the accounts, whitelist, bans and access levels..cache/Saves/Multiplayer/<Server Name>: the world, if you want only the world.
- Click Restore selected. Your server stops for a moment while the files are swapped, then starts again.

Undo
Click Undo last restore in the same window within 24 hours. The replaced files are kept in the .pnh-restore folder for 7 days. The full tour of this window is in How to restore only some files or one area of your map from a backup. The tab An area of the map is for Minecraft worlds only.
Good to know
- Restoring the accounts database brings back the bans, whitelist and access levels as they were at the time of the backup. Players who made an account later lose it.
- A settings file from before a build change may not fit the other build. Check How to choose Build 41 or Build 42 for your Project Zomboid server.
- To bring back the whole server, use How to restore your Project Zomboid world from a backup.
