Eco mods are code files that the server compiles when it starts. There is no workshop and no automatic download, so you upload them yourself.
1. Get a mod that matches your version
Eco mods are tied closely to the game version. A mod built for an older release will usually fail to compile, and the server then starts without it. Check the mod page for the Eco version it supports before you download.
2. Upload it
- Stop the server in the Game Panel.
- Open the Files tab and go to the
Modsfolder, then into the user code folder inside it. - Upload the mod, keeping the folder structure the mod author used.
- Start the server.
3. Watch the compile
- The Console reports the mods it is compiling as the server boots.
- A compile error names the file and the line. That is the mod being incompatible, not your server being broken.
- Remove the offending mod, restart, and the server comes back up.
4. Mods that change world content
- Take a backup before adding a mod that adds blocks, items or recipes.
- Removing such a mod later can leave broken objects in the world.
- Some mods need a fresh world to work properly. The mod page will say so.
5. After a game update
Eco updates often break mods. When the server updates, check the console on the first start. If a mod stops the server from booting, move it out of the Mods folder, get the players back online, then look for an updated version of the mod.
Open a ticket from Support in the Client Area with the compile error if you are not sure which mod is at fault.
