Why does Eco need so much RAM?
Because the world simulates continuously. Eco tracks plant growth, animal populations, pollution and every block's ecological state, and it does that whether players are online or not. That baseline is why the smallest tier here starts at 6GB rather than 2GB. A large collaborative world with a full economy wants 10GB or 16GB.
Can I run a private server for one group?
Yes. Public listing is a panel toggle and there is a server password field beside it. Leave listing off and share the address and password with your group, and nobody else finds it.
How many players is realistic?
Eco is designed around specialisation, so more players means more professions covered and a faster economy. Six is a tight collaborative world where everyone wears several hats. Twenty is comfortable for a proper civilisation. Sixty four is a community or classroom scale server, and it wants the 16GB tier.
What can I set from the panel?
Server name, detailed description, password, public listing, category, language, playtime and your Discord link are all panel fields. Deeper world and difficulty settings live in the server's config files, which you get over SFTP and in the file manager.
Do I need a Strange Loop account?
No. The server runs without one. Linking a Strange Loop Games account is optional and only affects how the server presents itself on the official list.
