PLAY THE BUS

The Bus puts you behind the wheel on Berlin routes at true 1:1 scale, selling tickets and running real lines such as TXL, 100 and 300. TML-Studios released it on 26 March 2026 after Early Access. Multiplayer works on PC only, so PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S players cannot join a server.

MOD UPLOADS AND SERVER SETTINGS

The server does not fetch Workshop items itself: subscribe on your own PC, upload the downloaded files to TheBus/Mods from the Modding page, then restart. To remove a mod, delete its files there. Start map, weather, real time, operating plan and vehicle fleet are keys in ServerSettings.cfg, which you can edit in Files.

How many drivers can join my server for The Bus?
Your plan's 10, 16 or 20. Maximum Players is written into ServerSettings.cfg as maxPlayerCount on every start, and the panel refuses any higher number. The developer publishes no hard cap; a fresh server of the game defaults to 10, which our install replaces with your plan's number before the first boot.
Can I set my own admin password?
Yes. Every new server gets its own random admin password instead of a shared default, and you can change it in the Admin Password field in Settings, with at least 8 characters. Our install pre-writes ServerSettings.cfg, so even the first boot uses it. Server Password is a separate field for the join password.
Can my server follow a Steam beta branch?
Yes. Type the branch name into Beta ID, and Beta Password if that branch needs one, and SteamCMD installs that branch of the dedicated server. Leave Beta ID empty to stay on the public release. Auto Update is on by default, so the server checks Steam for a newer build when it starts.
