A plugin that is not in the panel's list can be uploaded by hand: put its .dll file, and any library files it lists, in the ServerPlugins folder with Files, then restart. To remove a plugin, use Uninstall on the Installed list of the Modding tab, or delete its .dll, then restart.
Upload a plugin
- Download the plugin from its author. Check it is built for the TShock version your server runs: the Console shows the version at start.
- Stop the server.
- Open the Files tab and open
ServerPlugins. The Modding tab's TShock card also has Open Files for this folder. - Click Upload and choose the plugin's
.dll, plus any library.dllfiles it needs. - Start the server and read the Console as TShock loads its plugins.
Never delete or replace TShockAPI.dll in that folder: it is TShock itself.
Remove a plugin
- Open your server in the panel and click the Modding tab.
- On the Plugins tab, click Installed.
- Open the three-dot menu at the end of the plugin's row and choose Uninstall.
- Click Uninstall in the window. The plugin's file is deleted from
ServerPlugins. - Restart the server yourself. The window says the server restarts, but the panel does not restart it for you, and TShock keeps running the plugin until the next start.
A plugin you uploaded yourself that is not in the panel's collection is not on the Installed list. Remove it in Files: open ServerPlugins, choose Delete file in the ... menu of its .dll, and restart.
The box Also delete its configuration and data does not reach a TShock plugin's settings, which most plugins keep in the tshock folder. Delete them there by hand in Files if you will not use the plugin again.
Careful with libraries
The Installed list also shows libraries that other plugins need, such as LazyAPI or linq2db. Removing one stops every plugin that needs it from loading at the next start. Leave libraries in place unless you remove the plugins that use them.
Good to know
- You need the Delete file permission to uninstall, and Create and upload to upload.
- Install from the list instead: How to install TShock plugins on your Terraria server.
- A plugin that will not load: A TShock plugin will not install or load.
