Workshop mods update themselves: at every start the server downloads the current version of each mod on your Workshop page. To get a mod update, restart the server. To remove a mod, remove it from the list on the Workshop page, click Save and restart: the server switches it off and deletes its download.
Update your mods
- Restart the server, for example with Restart at the top of the page.
- In the Console, the
[pnh-mods]lines show the mods being updated, thenWorkshop: N ready, N failed.
Players get the same versions when they join. tModLoader itself also updates at every start while tModLoader Version is latest, and the Console then says Mods made for the previous release may need an update too. See How to update your Terraria server and hold a version.
Remove a mod
- Open your server in the panel and click the Workshop tab.
- Click the remove button on the mod's row in Workshop mods.
- Click Save, then Restart to apply.
At the next start the Console says disabled and the mod's name, (no longer in the Workshop list), and its download is deleted. Mods you uploaded to the mods folder yourself are not touched.
Removing a content mod from a world that used it can lose the items and blocks it added. Take a backup first: How to back up and restore your Terraria world.
Remove every mod
Remove every row and save, then restart. The server starts without Workshop mods. To go back to plain Terraria, change the server type: How to switch your Terraria server to TShock or tModLoader.
Good to know
- If Steam does not answer during a start, the Console says
Steam did not answer every lookup; nothing is removed or disabled this start.Nothing is lost: the next start tries again. - Add mods: How to add Steam Workshop mods to your tModLoader server.
- A mod that does not load: A tModLoader mod did not load on your server.
