Click Edit slots on the Active players card on your server's Overview page, choose a number and click Update. The server restarts so Rust uses the new limit.
Change the slots
- Open your server in the panel. You land on Overview.
- On the Active players card, click Edit slots. You can also click the pencil on the Slots row of the server card on the same page.

- In the Edit Player Slots window, choose the number. The window says how many players your plan allows.
- Click Update.

The server restarts, so players are disconnected. Do it when few people are on, and tell them first.
Why Max Players is read only
Max Players in Game Settings shows the limit your server runs with, and it is read only. Edit slots is the way to change it, so the number always stays within your plan. Writing a player limit into Additional Arguments does nothing, because Rust keeps the first value it is given and the panel's own comes first.
More slots than your plan
Your plan sets the top of the range. To go higher, open My plan in the left menu (owner only) and look at the bigger plans. See How to change your plan or billing cycle and How much RAM does a Rust server need?
Good to know
- Slots are the most players that can be online together. A full server turns new players away.
- More slots do not make the server faster. Pick the plan for the memory a busy map needs: How to make your Rust server run smoother.
