How to Change Your Return to Moria Server Settings

Return to Moria keeps its dedicated server settings in MoriaServerConfig.ini. The file must be edited with the server stopped, because the server rewrites it on shutdown.

Open the file

1. Stop the server and wait for the panel to report it is offline.
2. In the panel open Files and open MoriaServerConfig.ini. Use the file manager's search if it is not in the root.

The settings that matter

• World name. This is what players see and search for in the session list. If the named world does not exist, the server creates a new one, which is how you start fresh.
• Optional world file name. Use this when you have more than one save with the same world name, or when you want to load a specific .sav file. It selects the save file rather than the display name.
• Optional password. Leave it blank for an open server. Set it and players must enter it to join.
• Difficulty and world type settings, which apply when a new world is generated. Changing them does not reshape an existing world.

Starting a new world without losing the old one

Change the world name to something that does not exist yet. The server generates a new world under the new name and leaves the previous save on disk untouched. Setting the old name back returns you to it.

Slots

Your plan's slot count is applied on your server's Startup Settings page, reachable from the server overview. Upgrade the plan in the billing area to run more players.

Do not change the port

The port value must match the one allocated to your server, shown on the server overview. Changing it makes the server unreachable.

Apply and verify

1. Save the file.
2. Start the server.
3. Watch the panel console as the world loads, then search for the world name in game to confirm it is advertised.
