How your Palworld server restarts, warns players and saves

PalworldUpdated Oct 16, 20263 min read

Palworld's memory use grows the longer the server runs, and a player whose game has updated cannot join a server still on the old build. So every new PlayNHost Palworld server comes with a Daily restart task that fixes both.

The daily restart

  • Early every morning, while the server is running, players see three messages in the game: 10 minutes, 5 minutes and 1 minute before the restart.
  • The server then saves the world, stops, installs any Palworld update and starts again.
  • A server you left stopped stays stopped.

Change its time, switch it off or delete it under Tasks. For busy worlds that run short of memory between restarts, switch on Restart every 6 hours under Tasks too.

Stop saves your world

When you press Stop or Restart, the panel asks Palworld to save the world first and then shut down. Nothing played since the last autosave is lost.

Send a message or save now

Under Tasks, the quick tasks for Palworld include Announce to Players, which shows your whole message to everyone in the game, and Save World, which writes the world to disk now. In the Console you can also type broadcast followed by your message.
