How to see who is online on your Minecraft server

MinecraftUpdated Oct 28, 20263 min read

The Active players card on your server's Overview page shows who is online right now and how many of your slots are in use. The Online tab of the Players page shows the same card, and the Seen tab lists everyone who has joined before.

The Active players card

  1. Open your server in the panel. The Active players card is on the Overview page.
  2. The title shows how many are on out of your player limit.
  3. Each player has a row with their name. The menu at the end of the row has Copy name, Kick and Ban.

What the card can say:

  • Nobody is online: the server is running and nobody is playing.
  • No answer from the server: normal while the server is starting or stopped.
  • and 3 more not named by the server (for example): the server counted more players than it named. Everyone is counted, but only some names are listed. To kick or ban someone who is not named, use Someone not listed on the Players page.

On a Minecraft server with the Players page, the card has Manage players, which opens it. Edit slots changes the player limit: see How to change the player limit on your Minecraft server.

In the Console

Type list in the Console tab and press Enter. The server answers with how many players are on and their names. In the game, any player can type /list.

The Console also has a Players filter above the output once players have joined or left: click it to see only join and leave lines. See How to use the Console on your Minecraft server.

Who has played before

Open Players in the left menu and the Seen tab. It lists the players who have joined, or whose name a command looked up, newest first. Use it to copy the exact spelling of a name for the whitelist, an operator or a ban.
