Open the Settings tab and click ServerSettings.ini under Config files. The panel shows the lines you can change as settings, with Save only and Save & restart at the bottom. Most of what you need is on Game Settings instead.
Open the file
- Open your server in the panel and click the Settings tab.
- Under Config files on the left, click
ServerSettings.ini.
If Config files says No config files yet, start the server once. The file is in Icarus/Saved/Config/WindowsServer/ in Files.
What the page shows
The settings sit under the heading Icarus / Dedicated Server Settings. The panel hides the lines it writes at every start (player limit, passwords and the lobby rules), so what is left depends on your file. A server set up from RocketWerkz's template file has these:
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Load Prospect | A saved prospect to load when the server starts, by its save name. |
| Create Prospect | A new prospect to create and launch when the server starts: [ProspectType] [Difficulty] [Hardcore] [SaveName]. |
| Last Prospect Name | The last prospect the server ran. The game writes it itself, for resuming. Leave it as it is. |
| Session Name | Does nothing: RocketWerkz says the game ignores it. Use Server Name on Game Settings. |
If your file has none of these lines, the page has nothing to show and there is nothing you need to change here.
Save
- Change a value.
- Click Save & restart to apply it now, or Save only to apply it at the next start. Revert throws away what you have not saved.
The page says Saved. Changes take effect the next time the server starts. or Saved, and the server is restarting to apply the changes.
Load or create a prospect at start
The server checks Load Prospect first, then resumes the last prospect, then Create Prospect. With nobody joining, the panel's lobby rule sends it back to the Server Lobby right after, so the simpler way is to pick the prospect in the lobby: How to start, load and resume prospects on your Icarus server.
Good to know
- Saving needs View startup, plus Read contents and Edit and rename under Files.
- Back up before you edit by hand in Files: a broken file can stop the server starting. See How to back up and restore your Icarus world.
