How to delete a prospect or start over on your Icarus server

To start over, start a new prospect in the Server Lobby: the old one stays on the server untouched. To remove a prospect for good, delete it in the game as an admin, or delete its .json file in Files while the server is stopped.

Deleting a prospect cannot be undone without a backup. Take one first: How to back up and restore your Icarus world.

Start a new prospect

1. Join the server. When nobody else is playing it is in the Server Lobby.
2. Start a new prospect in the game's menus, or type CreateProspect with its settings. See How to start, load and resume prospects on your Icarus server.
3. Give it a new save name, so the old prospect is kept.

If players are inside the old prospect, an admin can type /ReturnToLobby in the game chat first. This kicks every player.

Delete a prospect in the game

On your server only an admin can delete a prospect.

1. Log in as admin: type /AdminLogin and your Admin Password in the game chat. See How to become admin on your Icarus server.
2. Delete the prospect in the Server Lobby.

Delete a prospect in Files

1. Download the file first if you may want it back: How to download your Icarus prospects.
2. Stop the server.
3. In Files, open Icarus/Saved/PlayerData/DedicatedServer/Prospects/.
4. Open the menu of the prospect's .json file and choose Delete file, then confirm.
5. Start the server.

Start completely fresh

To remove every prospect, delete every file in the Prospects folder the same way. Your settings, mods and the admin password stay as they are. There is no ready-made wipe schedule for Icarus.
