How to connect to your Empyrion server

This article covers joining your PlayNHost Empyrion: Galactic Survival server.

1. Find your server address

1. Log in to the Client Area at https://playnhost.com/billing and open your Empyrion service.
2. Note the IP / Hostname and Port. Empyrion uses 30000 by default and reserves the few ports above it.

2. Start the server

1. Open the server in the Game Panel at https://panel.playnhost.com and click Start.
2. Watch the Console. The first start builds the galaxy, which takes several minutes.
3. Wait for the server to report it is running before joining.

3. Join from the game

1. Launch Empyrion and choose Multiplayer.
2. Search for your server name in the list, or use the option to add a server by address and enter IP:Port.
3. Select it and connect, entering the password if one is set.

Your server appears in the public list only when Srv_Public is true in dedicated.yaml.

4. Custom scenarios

If your server runs a custom scenario such as a community overhaul, players need the same scenario installed from the Steam Workshop before they can join. The game usually offers to download it. See the scenario guide in this category.

5. What to give your players

• The IP:Port address.
• The server name for the list.
• The password, if you set one.
• The scenario name, if the server is not running the default one.

Open a ticket from Support in the Client Area with your IP, port and the exact error if players cannot connect.
