How to become an admin on your Longvinter server

Longvinter admins are listed by account ID in the same Game.ini file as the rest of the server settings.

1. Find your account ID

1. Launch Longvinter and open the game settings.
2. Your account ID is shown there. Copy it exactly.
3. It is also printed in the server console when you connect.

A player name will not work. Only the ID is accepted.

2. Add it to the config

1. Stop the server in the Game Panel.
2. Open Game.ini in the config folder under Longvinter/Saved/Config/.
3. Find the admin setting under the advanced sessions section.
4. Put your ID there. For more than one admin, separate the IDs with a single space.
5. Save and start the server.

3. Use admin rights in game

• Join the server. Listed accounts get their rights automatically.
• Admin rights cover moderating players on your island and managing what other players have built.
• The Console tab in the Game Panel shows the log as it happens, including who joined and when, which is often all you need to sort out a dispute.

4. Removing an admin

Stop the server, remove the ID from the list, save and start it again. The file is read at boot, so nothing changes until the restart.

5. If admin does not work

• Check the ID against the one printed in the console when you connect.
• Use a single space between IDs, not a comma.
• Check the setting is under the correct section header.
• Confirm the edit survived the restart. If it reverted, the server was running when you saved.

Open a ticket from Support in the Client Area with your ID and the admin line from your config if rights are still refused.
