How to Connect to Your V Rising Server

V Rising servers use a game port and a separate query port. Players connect on the game port. The browser reads the query port, which is why a server can be joinable and still invisible in the list.

Find your address

Open your V Rising server at https://panel.playnhost.com. The overview shows the IP and the port assigned to SERVER_PORT. That is your connect address. The separate VR_QUERY_PORT is only used by the server browser.

Direct connect

1. Launch V Rising and choose Play.
2. Select Online Play.
3. Click Direct Connect at the bottom of the server list.
4. Enter the address as 203.0.113.10:9876 using your game port.
5. Enter the server password if one is set.

This is the address to give your friends. It works before the server has registered with the browser.

Find it in the server list

1. From Online Play, search for your server name.
2. Set the filter to include private servers if you have a password set, otherwise it is hidden by the default filters.
3. Click the server, then Play.

A newly created server can take several minutes to appear. Use direct connect in the meantime.

Create your character on the right server

V Rising characters are per server. Joining a new server always starts a new vampire, which is expected and not a fault. Progress on other servers is untouched.

If the connection fails

• Check the panel console. V Rising logs a line reporting the server is ready and listening once loading is done. Before that, connections are refused.
• Confirm you used the game port and not the query port.
• A version mismatch after a game update shows as a failure to connect with no further detail. Restart the server so it pulls the update.
