How to become an admin on your HumanitZ server

HumanitZ admin access is a password rather than a list of accounts. Anyone who knows it can claim admin, so keep it to yourself.

1. Set the admin password

1. Stop the server in the Game Panel.
2. Open the Files tab and browse to TSSGame.
3. Open GameServerSettings.ini and set AdminPassword to something long.
4. Keep it different from the join password in Password.
5. Save and start the server.

2. Claim admin in game

1. Join the server.
2. Open the in game menu and find the admin or server option.
3. Enter the admin password.
4. The admin controls unlock for the rest of your session.

3. Moderating from the panel

The Console tab in the Game Panel shows the server log as it happens, including who joins and leaves. It is the quickest way to find out who was on the server when something went wrong, even if you are not in game.

4. Keeping the password safe

• Do not reuse your panel or billing password.
• Change it whenever someone leaves your group, since there is no way to revoke access for one person.
• Do not paste it into a public Discord channel. There is no admin list to fall back on.

5. If the password is refused

• Restart the server after changing it. The file is read at boot.
• Check for a trailing space in the value.
• Confirm the edit survived. If the file reverted, you edited while the server was running.

Open a ticket from Support in the Client Area if the value is correct and admin is still refused.
