How to connect to your Abiotic Factor server

This article explains how to join your PlayNHost Abiotic Factor server and what to send to the people playing with you.

1. Find your server address

1. Log in to the Client Area at https://playnhost.com/billing and open your Abiotic Factor service.
2. Note the IP / Hostname and Port.
3. The same values are on the server dashboard in the Game Panel at https://panel.playnhost.com.

If the panel lists more than one port for your server, the first one is the game port and the second is the Steam query port. The query port is the one Steam uses to show the server in a browser.

2. Start the server first

1. Open the server in the Game Panel and click Start.
2. Watch the Console until the world has finished loading. Abiotic Factor loads the whole facility before it accepts players.

3. Join from the in game browser

1. Launch Abiotic Factor.
2. Choose Multiplayer and open the server browser.
3. Type part of your server name in the search field.
4. Select the server and join. Enter the password if one is set.

4. Join through Steam favourites

Use this when the browser will not show the server, which is common on a busy list.

1. Close the game and open the Steam client.
2. Click View, then Game Servers.
3. Open the Favorites tab and click Add a Server.
4. Enter IP:QueryPort, for example 123.45.67.89:27015, and add it.
5. Select the server in the list and click Connect. The game launches and joins.

5. What to give your friends

• The server name, so they can search for it.
• The IP and query port for the Steam favourites method.
• The password, if you set one.

If a player is refused, check that they are on the same game version as the server and that the server is not full. Open a ticket from Support in the Client Area with the exact error text if it continues.
