How to Connect to Your SCUM Server

SCUM servers are found through the in-game browser. The filters are aggressive, so a server that is running perfectly can look missing until you clear them.

Find your address

Open your server at https://panel.playnhost.com. The overview shows the IP and the ports assigned to SERVER_PORT and QUERY_PORT. Players connect on SERVER_PORT.

Find the server in the browser

1. Launch SCUM and choose Online.
2. Clear the search filters. In particular, turn off the options that hide password protected servers and empty servers, and set the ping limit high.
3. Type part of your server name into the search box.
4. Select the server and join, entering the password if there is one.

SCUM's list is slow to refresh. If a search returns nothing, refresh the list fully and search again rather than assuming the server is down.

Favourite it

Once you have found the server, mark it as a favourite. The favourites tab is far more reliable than searching every time.

The first start takes a long time

A new SCUM server generates its world and writes its default configuration on the first boot. This takes several minutes and the server is not listed until it is done. Watch the panel console rather than the browser.

If you cannot connect

• Check the panel console for the server reporting it is ready.
• Confirm you used SERVER_PORT and not the query port.
• A version mismatch after a SCUM patch shows as the server being invisible to updated clients. Restart the server so it pulls the new build.
